Neutron Stars

Formation:
Neutron stars form when a star that is between 4 to 8 times the sun’s mass use up their available fuel. This causes their internal fusion reactions to cease. First, the star’s outer layers collapse. It then bounces off the thick core and blasts out as a powerful supernova.
The core then continues to collapse and extremely high pressures are generated. These pressures are so high that protons and electrons are fused to create neutrons and lightweight particles called neutrinos are spread into the distant universe. This ends it the creation of a star made of 90% neutrons that are so tightly squeezed together they can’t be squeezed any further. This means the neutron star is broken down as far as possible
